IMO, over the last year or so Nottingham's food scene has proper upped it's game and I am extremely happy about this! There is a mix of places that serve meat/barbecue style dishes, some better than others, a variety of burger joints and independent pizza companies served in new hip bars. Just to name a few.
George's Kitchen is relatively new to the city, and has recently won Best New Venue, and judging by the photo I snapped, I can definitely see why! Unfortunately there were too many of us to be seated in a super cute beach hut, but I'll definitely be back and hope that I get to eat in a hut. They are all labeled with sea side towns, like Brighton, Padstow and Newquay.
I had their 'Proper Scampi' which is Scottish Langoustine tail in a light breadcrumb, and chips. I am not ashamed to say that I demolished the lot. I recommend that you have it with their aioli dip. It is delish!
