Burial Rites Review...

Some of you may know that I am a very slow reader and I am known to start so many books and never finish them, mostly because I have the shortest attention span, but deep deep down I genuinely wish I read more. I was sent this book a few (or more) months ago, but hadn't had time to start it properly until recently I started it again and I got really hooked.

Without giving too much away this book is set in Iceland (a place I now want to visit even more!) and based around the life of a young girl called Agnes who had committed a murder. She was forced to stay with a family on a remote farm until her execution. Burial tells the story of time with the family during a winter over 200 years ago. I really enjoy reading books like this where you get to know the characters, and you get so hooked that you feel like you know them. I remember finishing this book whist on the way to work one morning and it left me feel a little eerie.

This book is so compelling and and gripping, I highly recommend this book to you all.

What have you been reading? Please let me know if you have read this, I'd love to know your thoughts!

  1. I am obsessed with all things Icelandic at the moment so this should be making it way to my kindle.

    1. Then you'll love this! So good would love to know what you think if you do read it :)

  2. I expect it was a bit hard to get in to, glad you persevered & enjoyed it. I prefer more of a LA, New York location for my reading but the books I read are a bit Chic Lit.

    1. I am the exact same I love the I heart books by Lindsey Kelk! But I would love to get into more thriller kind of books too :) want to start Gone Girl! x
