Today I started my first day at White Rose, as mentioned in my previous post - and I loved every minute, my shift began with sorting stock, from steaming donated items and pricing them up ready to be sold, I then got trained on the till, styled mannequins and redid the shop window. Its great to get creative and all for a great cause.
I have always enjoyed styling and visual merchandising, and it isn't as easy as it seems, especially when working with items that are not 'on trend' as they are donated and making them look fab so people buy buy buy!
I am looking forward to my next shift next weekend, fellow staff make me feel so welcome and the atmosphere is so relaxed.
People ask me why I volunteer when I work full time, in an office Monday - Friday... I just like to experience something different, slightly less stress free, and do things like visual merchandising. So why not for a charity?
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend, I am off to London tomorrow to watch my nieces run round Wembley Stadium. Not sure what I have let myself in for! x
