Happy Chinese New Year

Now watching:
Keeping up with the Kardashians
on E!

As you may or may not know, it is Chinese New Year today, this year, is the year of the Dragon (Chinese horoscope) aka my year. The Dragon is fifth in the cycle following the Rabbit which recurs every 12 years. You may be confused as to when the exact date is for Chinese New Year as it does not fall on a specific date every year. So it is advised to check your calender :). What animal are you?

The meaning of the Dragon are the following;

The Dragon is a creature of myth and legend. A symbol of good fortune and sign of intense power, the Oriental Dragon is regarded as a divine beast - the reverse of the malicious monster that Westerners felt necessary to find and slay. In Eastern philosophy, the Dragon is said to be a deliverer of good fortune and a master of authority. Therefore, those people born in Dragon years are to be honored and respected.

We are: innovative, enterprising, flexible, self-assured, brave, passionate, conceited, tactless, scrutinizing, unanticipated, quick-tempered. (oops)

I am a sucker for reading my daily horoscope, whether you believe them or not, I just think they're fun to read and maybe follow. Just don't take them too seriously.

I do like this; what careers we may be good at; computer analysts, inventors, engineers, architects, lawyers, philosophers, psychoanalysts, brokers, managers, sales people, PR people, advertising agents, officers in the armed forces, campaigners, politicians.

Tradition is that you receive a Red packet filled with some money, this can be as little as 50p and is given from the older generation. Always a bonus when you are skint. Cheeky.

I am the youngest sibling so iffff I ever marry, I shall be giving them to my little nieces.

We have started our family meal with home-made hairy prawns. Eat your heart out Yo! Sushi.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday xxx

  1. This is so useful, I like reading this blog post. Thank you for your comment and letting me know about my lion/dragon error - I have now deleted it now anyway, as I'm sure I've made an idiot of myself in the latest blog post, the lack of knowledge I have is embarrassing. I am such a BBC. Hope you're well, happy CNY! xxx
