Selfridges pop-up store opens this week: Oxfam

Being a previous Oxfam volunteer, this interests me greatly. During summer 2008 i volunteered at Bridlesmith Gate's Oxfam Orginals in Nottingham.

Now, for one week only Selfridges London, are launching a pop-up Oxfam shop starting this Friday til Thursday 20th May, selling clothes donated by celebrities, as well as vintage and highstreet must haves. Volunteers running this shop will include celebs and people of the fashion industry, rumours consist of Annie Lennox, Whistles cheif executive Jane Shepherdson and possibly Alexa Chung? Who knows, i guess you're going to have to get down there and see for yourself!

Selfridges said "It will be the UK’s biggest charity pop-up shop and will house thousands of vintage and celebrity-donated items as well as a selection of the best accessories, homewares, music and books from Oxfam shops around the UK."

Also, just announced, before the launch this friday, there will be an opportunity to bid on the online auction starting at 10am Thursday 15th May, here! Items will be donated from the likes of Elle Macpherson, Alexa Chung, and Carey Mulligan. (See below for the Vionnet dress she wore to the Bafta's, which she has kindly donated!)

If you are one of the lucky ones who are in London during this exciting event.. The pop-up shop will be located in Selfridges London’s Ultralounge, the permanent arts and exhibition venue in the store’s lower ground floor.

All the money raised will go towards Oxfams Women's projects across the world, helping women living in extreme poverty. Theres no better excuse to shop and spend your well earned cash!
